homosexuality: a blessing or a curse?

What is homosexuality? It is defined as the attraction between people of the same sex. These people are more sexually attracted to the people of the same sex then to the people of the other sex. It is more commonly known as 'gay' for the males and 'lesbian' for the females. Homosexuality is by large not accepted by most people and by many countries. It is considered morally wrong.

Homosexuality is a curse. Asians are a conservative society. To us, homosexuality is considered not normal and unnatural. Many people believe that humans are born to have partners of the opposite sex. It is the way it is supposed to be. Just imagine two men kissing on the streets. The thought itself is disturbing. Young kids will learn and do the wrong things in future.

Homosexuality will bring on an increase of the risk of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection, as many unrestrained and uncontrolled sex will take place. Many people will have an increase of sexual partners. So for example, a HIV infected person perform sexual acts with their partners with several of his partners. These partners will in turn perform sexual acts with their respective partners and so on. This way, many people will be infected, harming the economy of the Singapore. Many people will be sick and unable to work.

Homosexuality also brings about low birth rate. As homosexual partners will not be able to reproduce, the birth rate of Singapore will decrease, causing the population to decrease. It will also cause Singapore to have a lack of talents in future and thus, causing the economy to suffer. With a lack of talents in future, Singapore will have to attract overseas talents to come and work in Singapore. But these people will be turned off by the idea of homosexuality in Singapore that they will not come. Thus Singapore will end up with a declining economy.

But, by putting ourselves in the shoes of the homosexuals, they are constantly looked down at by the society. They are despised. To able to be honest to theirs sexual orientation is like releasing them from an invisible cage. They can do what they want without worries. They would be able to find partners with the same sexual orientation as them and they would not be afraid to be lonely again.

Therefore, I conclude that homosexuality is a curse. They are immoral and they bring harm to the economy and the society. Although the government is thinking of legalise homosexuality, the homosexuals should keep check on themselves so as to keep the society from immoral act.
