hmosexuals a blessing or a curse??

Homosexuals, is it blessing or a curse? Often a times, people are always caught between a dilemma whether homosexuals is something to be condemned or supported.

From the homosexuals’ point of view, it has to be a blessing as it shows that their way of life is finally being recognized and appreciated by the society. When this happens, it shows that the homosexuals they themselves are no longer regarded as “abnormal” by the society and can just demonstrate their true characteristics in public. This is a blessing for them for it shows that the homosexuals are given more human rights.

However, from the non-homosexuals’ point of view, it may not be a blessing. As these people cannot accept the homosexuals’ behavior, with the homosexuals demonstrating their true characteristics in the society openly, this may lead to the non-homosexuals to feel uncomfortable and perhaps irritated by their behaviors. Thus they may feel that there is no longer a place where there is “homosexuals free”, affecting their daily life. Thus, it wil then be a curse for them.

From the society point of view, supporting homosexuals shows that the society has shifted from conservative to an open society, something which should be proud of. By being open to this it goes to shows that there is more freedom of choice for people to choose who they want to be rather than in the past where people are often restricted to do things that they may not be willing to. Thus, supporting shows that society is encouraging human rights and freedom of choice which can be regarded as a blessing.

However, it can be a curse as well. With the homosexuals behaving more openly in the society, it increases the chances of conflicts with those people who are strongly against homosexuality. Fights and quarrels may become even more frequent, making the society an insecure one. In addition, as the homosexuals can behave more openly, non-homosexuals may felt very disturbed when approached by these people and build barriers with the people around them. Therefore, in this case, it is a curse since it may bring about even more social problems, adding on the numbers of social problems in the society.

From the country’s point of view, supporting homosexuals may bring about more economy opportunities as being “homosexuals friendly”, the homosexuals may be more encouraged to visit or invest in the country. It may also help the boost the country’s reputation for encouraging human rights. Thus, it brings about blessing to the country.

However there may be negative impacts as well. As mentioned earlier, supporting homosexuals may bring about a rise in the number of conflicts in the country. Fights become much more frequent, resulting in more resources and efforts from the country to be channeled to resolve these unnecessary problems. These funds could possibly be used to further improve the living standards in the country or used to develop the county’s economy. Thus, it can be a curse as well.

In a nutshell, is homosexuality a blessing or a curse? It is really base on person to person basis. It depends on how each individuals view the case of homosexuality and how willing they are to accept the differences between them. In my point of view, so long as the homosexual does not affect my daily life and cause me to feel a sense of insecurity in the society, and yet grant human rights to more people, it is a blessing. However, if it brings about many social problems such as insecurity, crimes or conflicts, judging from the total benefits and the total loss in supporting homosexuals, it is more of a curse. Thus, so long as the homosexuals do not impact others negatively, I would say that it is more of a blessing.
