Are all singles necessarily unhappy?

This issue is a controversial one as it is sure to evoke a plethora, multitude, and myriad of mixed responses from people from all walks of life, those germane to this issue, and those who are not involved at all. Generally, being single has its pros and cons, as all matters possess. Singles usually enjoy freedom at its maximum, with no restraints placed on him or her by the other party. They get to be independent in all ways, including financially (as they can be career-oriented and focus on their careers and rise through the ranks as they climb up the corporate ladder), which will heighten their self-esteem. Furthermore, singles from both genders enjoy more time on his or her own, as they are not required to devote time to their otherwise existent family. Singles also enjoy more privacy than married couples. With all these advantages, how could it be said that singles are unhappy?
However, as mentioned before, everything has its cons too. Before elucidating the cons of being a single, one must be clear that being single can mean one's lifelong companion losing his or her life due to unforeseen circumstances. So, in this context being single will make him or her unhappy. Also, if this particular group of people has a family, it might be arduous for them to support the family along, with no one to split the financial burden. This, is also true for singles whose parents have died, and who have younger siblings to support. Being single also means that one does not have a reliable and staid confidante. So, singles might not get the intimate emotional support one sometimes need. So, it is also true that being single does not necessarily mean guareented happiness.
So as to encapsulate the issue of the happiness of singlehood, I would like to say that this is a sensitive issue, which, when treated inappropriately, could lead to social anarchies erupting. So, the best thing is to look at this matter in different perspectives, so as to fathom whether really, are all singles happy?
